Your support creates lasting

impact for our athletes.

100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser are used to support awards, bursaries and scholarships for our athletes, helping them with the costs associated with a quality post-secondary education.

Delwin Hothi received an award from last year's fundraiser, and expresses his gratitude, saying, “I play for the Okanagan College Men’s basketball team, and I have classes and labs every school day. This award will help me pay for next semester, so I can continue taking applied science courses and pay for necessities. My goal is to become a pro basketball player. I want to thank you again for your generous support of my education, which will help me pursue my goal!”

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register?

Ticket sales will be conducted online via this website only. You must be a resident of British Columbia, currently in British Columbia, and 19+ to play. You will receive an electronic confirmation from Trellis of your purchase, and then an email from the Okanagan College Foundation with your individually-numbered ticket, the contest Rules & Regulations, as well as a further email when the site "goes live" containing a link to join the FREE ESPN Fantasy March Madness Bracket Challenge.

How do I play the Bracket Challenge?

All paid entrants will be sent an invitation to join the free ESPN Fantasy March Madness Bracket Challenge. A private group will be established when the challenge “goes live” online for tracking the progress of all participants. (For an overview of how the Challenge works on the ESPN site, please visit the 2021 edition here: https://fantasy.espn.com/tournament-challenge-bracket/2021/en/story?pageName=tcmen\howtoplay Entrants must have a free ESPN Fantasy account to participate.

What is the NCAA March Madness schedule?

The tournament bracket will be released on or about Sunday, March 13th

Selection Sunday       March 13

Entrant Selection Period        March 13 - 17

First Found (32 Games)         March 17 and 18

Second Round (16 Games)    March 19 and 20

Sweet 16 (8 Games)   March 24 and 25

Elite Eight (4 Games) March 26 and 27

Final Four -Semi-Finals (2 Games)   April 2

National Championship - Finals (1 Game)    April 4

Winner Selection and Notification    April 5

How do I fill out my bracket?

When the bracket is released, entrants will go to the ESPN Fantasy website to select who they think will win each of the 63 tournament games. Entrants may change their selections as often as they wish prior to the scheduled tip-off time for the first game. Once the tournament has commenced, all selections will be locked and finalized.

Participants fill out the bracket in its entirety from a single webpage. They will check the team name to advance that team to the next round. Once their bracket is complete, they will be prompted to submit their prediction of the combined score for the Championship Game (see below for Tie-Breaking procedure). Once that is entered, the SUBMIT button will change colour allowing them to register their tournament bracket.

Points will be awarded on the system used by ESPN Fantasy.

Tie-breaking procedure – ESPN Fantasy has participants predict the combined score (winner score + loser score) of the National Championship Game. The participant that is closest to the actual combined score (regardless of over or under of the actual score) will be given the higher ranking and declared the winner in the event of a tie.

All official results will be sourced from ESPN Fantasy website.

How will the winner be declared?

On April 5th, the Foundation will review all brackets and apply any necessary tie-breakers (the ESPN Fantasy website does not automatically calculate tie-breakers due to the sheer volume of participants) to determine First, Second, and Third Place recipients. In the event of a tie between two or more entrants who have the most total points, the tie-breaking procedure will be applied; in the event of two entrants being equally close to the actual combined score where one participant is under the actual combined score and the other is over the actual combined score, the participant who selected the closest score without going over will be declared the winner of the tie-breaker.
