This event will help us raise the funds needed to support our programs and services for 2SLGBTQIA+ people in Waterloo Region over the coming year.

If you enjoyed last year's event, then you'll love this year!

Our headliner is Brandon Ash-Mohammed, a fresh face in comedy. Brandon has been named a JFL Montreal New Face and was the winner of a Canadian Screen Award for his work as Head Writer on Canada’s Drag Race. In 2018, he created The Ethnic Rainbow (Canada’s first and only comedy show for LGBT comedians of colour). Brandon’s album, Capricornication, which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Canada Comedy charts, and was nominated for a Juno for Comedy album of the Year, made him the first Gay Black Canadian to release a comedy album. NPR’s Bullseye named it “one of the best comedy albums of 2020.” Brandon was one of the stars of the Amazon original series Last One Laughing: Canada. He most recently served as the Toronto correspondent on the longest-running comedy show in Canadian history, This Hour Has 22 Minutes.

Our MC is Robert Watson, an award-winning playwright, performer, fragrance aficionado extraordinaire, and producer and host of Gay AF. The show will also feature high-energy punch-up comedian Mikey Dykeman and Second City-trained, Rush Kazi who has been featured in Just For Laughs Toronto/JFL42, Toronto Fringe Festival, and both Toronto and Montreal SketchFests.

Dinner will be from B Elegant Catering, and the event will take place at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum.

This event is presented by Co-operators Insurance, and also sponsored by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Company of Canada, Stantec, Liftow, Gowling WLG, and the Greater KW Chamber of Commerce.

Dress Code: It's called a "gala" but we want you to be comfortable! Please dress as you prefer, whether that's a fabulous cape, t-shirt and shorts, or tuxedo!
