Update: Houston 2022

Alberta Tech Alliance Association is proud to announce that our FIRST Robotics Competition Team 4421, qualified at the Canadian Pacific Regional Competition for the FIRST Championship in Houston (https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/frc/what-is-first-robotics-competition), held April 20th to 23rd, 2022. Team 4421 is the product of legacy FRC Teams 5015 and 4334. In the fall of 2021, we combined these teams to focus our resources on a single competitive team. Looks like the idea worked! Thank you from Alberta Tech Alliance Association and Team 4421 for winning this year and we are waiting for the results from FTC & FLL Teams.

Our students and volunteer mentors are excited to attend Champs, but the cost is high, and our available resources are low.

We are Alberta Tech Alliance Association

We are non-profit based in Calgary, Alberta that supports STEM education through FIRST robotics programs.

The Alberta Tech Alliance Association is a Calgary-based organization that provides STEM opportunities for youth through participation in FIRST Robotics programs. Starting with only one FRC team in 2014, we expanded in 2018 by incorporating a second FRC team to assist in spreading STEM opportunities. Post Covid, we have merged the two FTC teams to one, which won the Western Canadian Regional championship in Mar 2022. With the addition of 3 new FIRST Tech Challenge Teams in 2019, we support the largest number of students participating in FIRST Robotics programs in Western Canada.

ATAA gives students the opportunity to pursue an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. With a team compliment of determined, committed and skilled members, they each work year round to promote personal and general improvement within their team and others. They strongly believe that competition and a consistent "try-again" attitude is what leads to innovation and further understanding.

FRC Teams:

Students on FIRST Robotics Team 4421 Forge Robotics, strive to actively improve themselves and others by spreading FIRST Robotics ideals and values, both in and out of competition.

FTC Team:

We have two FTC Teams. In 2019, the Alberta Tech Alliance Association created 3 FIRST Tech Challenge Teams for younger students in grade 7 to 9. Played on a smaller field with smaller robots, the FIRST Tech Challenge focuses on providing robotics opportunities for younger students than those in the FIRST Robotics Competition program. The two teams, Hyper Droid #10015 & StrikeBots #16595, will be participating in the Alberta Provincial Championship which will be held from Mar 13 - Mar 19, 2022, which will be conducted virtually.

FLL Team:

Our FLL team, The Baby Groots who has built the robot by name Elmo will be participating in the Alberta Provincial Championship which will be held on Apr 02, 2022, which will be conducted virtually.

The FTC & FLL teams will also join the FRC team to Houston in April 2022, if they win in Alberta.
