Books, Bites & Artistic Delights: A Faerie Tea Fundraiser
As we emerge from Covid, we are proud to have survived and to have done so while keeping our performance insync with our philosophy. We acknowledge that we owe huge gratitude to the Lyceum community for their solid backing of our work. Unfortunately, post Covid increases in property tax and strata fees have left us with an unanticipated gap we need to bridge. We have put our minds together with our supporters and decided to throw a survival celebration, Lyceum style, and raise the modest funds we need at the same time.
Event Details
We are inviting you to attend one of our signature faerie teas (seating times listed below) and for those who know us best, you’ll know that our faerie teas compete with high teas in the best of places. Christianne and the Lyceum team will be serving delectable delicacies and miniature morsels on only the finest china. Each setting will have teeny books with beautiful markers to convey messages to the fae that may reside in your garden. After tea, Christianne will weave threads of faerie lore in the Lyceum garden showcasing individual faerie abodes and gathering spots.
Three time slots for attendance:
11:00am - 12:30pm
1:30pm - 3:00pm
4:00pm - 5:30pm
Those who would like to dine on dainty morsels from delicate, china tier stands can obtain a seating of tea for two for $50. Additional servings can be purchased at a discount for $15 a person. Tables seat a maximum of four. Tea tickets include entry.

Pysanky & Philanthropy
As we fundraise, our students are also fundraising for their own cause: relief efforts in the Ukraine. At the Lyceum, we believe discovering avenues of personal efficacy is integral in generating the hope that today’s youth so desperately need in charting their futures. This spring our teen home learners engaged in significant research around the issues emerging from the Russia - Ukraine conflict. A strong desire to help was felt by all involved and scrutiny of different organizations involved in providing relief for Ukraine began. After much debate back and forth, they settled on raising funds for Voices of Children. The idea of helping the most vulnerable survivors of war seemed appropriate. Kids helping kids. As the time of year was also the time when Ukranians around the world make pysanky, it seemed a natural fit to make pysanky to sell as a way to raise funds for their cause.
In order to create more eggs to sell, it was decided that we would need to enlist the participation of other students at the Lyceum. The Primary Literature and Art class seemed a good place to start. The book Chicken Sunday by Patricia Polacco was read by Christianne as a perfect springboard into making pysanky for a cause. Watching these young ones cradle delicate eggs as they applied hot beeswax with kitskas was truly a sight to behold. They felt so important being trusted with candles, lighters and fragile hand-blown eggs. Together with their teen mentors these young artists have created a significant collection of truly gorgeous treasures.
During each seating of our fundraiser the youth will be displaying and selling their one-of-a-kind art pieces to help others like themselves across the Baltic Sea. Come out and help them reach their goal and at the same time support the future philanthropists of your community.
