Send a Smile with a Bouquet of Local Love!
This Floral Fundraiser partners with awesome local florist businesses who are creating signature bouquets especially for YOU to share your Local Love with! We invite you to purchase a beautiful bouquet for someone you care about, someone who's had a tough year, or anyone who may need a smile! We will deliver them all with a wonderful team of volunteers in each community, on Friday April 30th. By sharing your local love, AND supporting our local florists, you'll help us support life changing youth-led programs through GenNext & United Way. As a Division of United Way, our mighty team is made up of emerging leaders who are passionate about volunteerism and furthering the United Way's work in our local community.

How your donation helps!
Youth Initiative Grants help fund local projects like this one where a group of inspiring Enactus Students from Okanagan College created "Silver Surfers", which is a student run social enterprise focused on giving seniors the ability to connect and communicate with loved ones and family using smart technology.
Silver Surfers starts with the basics of iPad technology then moves to topics such as: email, apps, web security, and communication channels. Throughout the sessions, a senior is paired with the same student volunteer each week, in order to build a strong connection that helps to maximize learning and also helps social isolation. Silver Surfers is in its 5th year of operation, taking place in 9 retirement homes empowering over 175 seniors each year.
Gennext selects and supports 5 projects like this every year that are youth created, youth led and youth delivered within the focus areas of United Way to give vulnerable people a path to possibility.

How far will you be able to deliver the bouquets?
We will be delivering all the bouquets to the lucky recipients on Friday April 30th, and can deliver anywhere around Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon. If you would like to volunteer as one of our trusty delivery champions that day, please reach out to us at email@example.com
Are the local florist business's being paid for their work?
Absolutely! This is a great way to support a local florist business (who's also suffered during Covid), send cheer to someone else...AND help raise funds to support impactful youth initiatives in your community. We are helping them out further by working with our willing volunteers for the deliveries rather than that coming from each florist's costs.
What time will the deliveries be made?
All deliveries will be made between 9am - 5pm on Friday April 30th and while we cannot specify an exact time, you are welcome to let us know an optimal time range that will work best for your lucky recipient. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know if you need to set a more specific delivery time.
