The auctions feature over 60 artworks generously donated by artists whose work reflects our mandate to provide a forum for Canadian-led conversations in contemporary art. Funds raised will directly support the online and print publication of the magazine and related educational programming. C Magazine commissions more than 120 artists, writers, and thinkers each year and presents the work of hundreds more. Admission includes complimentary food, bar, and a subscription to C Magazine.

The C Magazine Auction is composed of both an Online Auction and a Live Auction. Silent Auction artworks within the Online Auction will be bid upon exclusively online. Items for the Silent Auction are each labelled “Silent.” Live Auction artworks within the Online Auction will accept advanced bids online, and final bids at the live event on 20 September, 2022 EDT. Items for the Live Auction are each labelled “Live.”

ONLINE AUCTION

Online bidding for all artworks opens Friday, 9 September at 6 pm EDT.

Silent Auction Lots #01-40

Bidding for Silent Auction artworks will close on

Live Auction Lots #41-62

Advanced Bidding for Live Auction artworks will end online on

Tuesday, 20 September at 12 pm EDT, to resume in person.

LIVE AUCTION

Bidding on the Live Auction artworks will resume in-person at

72 Perth Avenue in Toronto on Tuesday, 20 September at 7 pm EDT for auction ticket holders, absentee, and phone-in bidders.

If you wish to bid remotely on the Live Auction works, we would be pleased to provide a dedicated telephone bidder, or you can register a confidential Absentee Bid, where the Auctioneer will execute bids on your behalf during the Live Auction. To request a telephone bidder or to place a confidential Absentee Bid before the event, please contact Kate at auction@cmagazine.com before Tuesday, 20 September at 7 pm EDT.

Charitable tax receipts are issued by C The Visual Arts Foundation (charitable no. 88643 1162) for the portion of an auction art purchase over their estimated market value, and for tickets, less $50 per attendee. Participating artists will also receive a portion of the sales.
