INSPIRE HOPE &
REIMAGINE POSSIBILITIES
Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) was founded in 1954 and provides services to assist immigrants and refugees to
develop the skills and acquire the necessary knowledge to
settle, integrate and succeed in Canada.
Despite being around for 69 years, we have never recognized our shared successes with all those who make them possible. Until now.
So, it's time to party! Come celebrate with us!
Purchase a ticket or sponsorship, and join more than 250 members of the CCS family -- employees, significant others & friends, volunteers, past clients, our Board of Directors and community and business partners -- at the elegant Apollo Convention Centre for our first Gala fundraiser on March 10, 2023.
WHAT TO EXPECT!
Dining, dancing, music and shopping... what could make for a better evening?
Enjoy gourmet South Asian cuisine, a DJ filling the dance floor with great music, plus prize raffles, a silent auction, works from local artists, and more --
All for a good cause!
WHO WILL YOU HELP BY SUPPORTING
THE GALA?
By supporting the gala, you'll help newcomer women and children
who are survivors of domestic violence.
One of the most common, dangerous, and entrenched breaches of human rights in our day is gender-based violence (GBV). Newcomer women may be more vulnerable to domestic violence due to economic dependence, language barriers, and a lack of knowledge about community resources. More so, children who witness violence in the home have twice the rate of psychiatric disorders as children from non-violent homes.
Together, We Can Make a Difference
How Your Gift will Drive Impact?
“I was in a relationship waiting and living [in] hell because I didn’t know that we have all this kind of supports.” - Survivor
CCS has identified a need for more help for newcomer women and children. In particular, programs designed to nurture potential in new through skill-building, civic engagement, mentoring, and counselling. Our Women Support Services help these women and children who are experiencing domestic violence trauma, mental health issues, and/ or who are single parents dealing with the ongoing challenges associated with the complexities of everyday life.
CCS’ Women Support Services has been delivering linguistically appropriate and culturally sensitive services to 600 women yearly for the past 30 years. We have helped women learn the language, build confidence and emotional well-being, build a network that will lead to social and economic inclusion, and create life skills to support their dependents and their journey.
Beyond providing our general settlement services to over 35,000 newcomers,
last year alone, the team helped:
Women & children experiencing domestic violence
Families to apply for subsidized housing
Clients to apply for Legal Aid assistance
Women receive immediate intervention for mental wellness
By supporting our Gala, you will help us build these
programs further & create a better future for newcomer women and children!
Help us inspire hope and reimagine possibilities of a Canada where newcomers thrive, feel at home and can contribute to society.
