Caring Hearts Education Day and Fundraiser

Grief is a major life stressor. There is no timeline for grief and one's experience can be affected by a variety of

factors, including whether or not the bereaved has a support system in place.

Families can access support groups and individual counselling based on their needs. Caring Hearts offers both western therapeutic counselling as well as support from an Elder to provide traditional Indigenous healing.

As part of this program, Caring Hearts offers education and training on trauma, culturally appropriate care, trauma informed care, self-care and resiliency building, and ambiguous loss for agencies, groups, and volunteers.

Join us on October 20th, for a timely and important Education Day where we will launch our toolkit "Tools for Equity, Diversity and Indigenization" with Duane Bowers, Licensed Professional Counselor, Trauma and Wellness Educator. He is one of few professionals globally who specializes in working with and providing support for families of missing children and missing adults.

Following our launch, enjoy and learn from the wisdom and knowledge of Elder Harry Francis during our 2nd Annual Caring Hearts Fundraiser - Stories to Heal. Elder Francis plays an integral part in the physical, mental,

spiritual and emotional well-being of those seeking support in both western and traditional approaches. The event

features great food, Indigenous drummers and dancers, and a silent auction.

Caring Hearts is a non-profit charity that offers counselling and education programs for families as well as agencies to support those struggling to cope with loss. Caring Hearts is working with provincial and federal government in support of the Missing Persons and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls in Saskatchewan.
