The Cause...

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis, Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotarians have been highly motivated to help out in our community -- it's all part of who we are and what we do. After all, Rotary's motto is SERVICE ABOVE SELF.

For several weeks, we coordinated cart sanitation at our local Foodland store and organized food deliveries to vulnerable citizens. Many of you may have been among the 140 volunteers who carried out these tasks!

Working with partners like Beaver Valley Outreach and Beaver Valley Community School and the local churches, we have also supported several other local initiatives to provide support for struggling families by contributing food gift cards to the food packages being delivered to the families.

We know there is still much that needs to be done to help get us all through this. This work is currently our Rotary Club's prime focus, as we concentrate, along with our community partners, on supporting the families of our community.

Your support of Hope in the Valley will help us to maintain this important work. Thank you for your generosity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the funds being directed?

All proceeds from the ticket sales go to Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club to be used to support families and individuals in our community.

Is the food only for Thornbury and Clarksburg?

Wherever you are, we hope you will support a restaurant during this event. We have listed the local restaurants who are thrilled to be part of our Hope in the Valley event. But if you're "from away", check out the dining options in your own neighbourhood and treat yourself while you support those businesses who are struggling at this time.

How can we support local businesses in this time?

  1. Pre-purchasing gift cards is a great way to support local business without much effort.
  2. Give ratings and reviews to businesses you support on google, yelp and other platforms
  3. Put reminders to book appointments in your phone later on

Remember, non essential service professionals are all throughout your life and will be in need during this time. It is impacting everyone.

Can we join from outside the Blue Mountains?

Of course! The more the merrier! This event is open for ALL who want to join the fun. ALL donations will be directed to T-C Rotary to support our work in our community.
