How this art work was chosen as the prize:

We had 57 beautiful pieces of artwork submitted by chapter members to be chosen to be raffled with proceeds going to Canadian Mental Health Association – Kelowna. It was great to see so many participating in this great cause. Thank you to all!

A jury of three FCA Signature members; Laurie Koss SFCA, Colleen Dyson AFCA, and Diana Palmer AFCA independently viewed each entry and rated them on a scale of 1 to 7. I took the top 4 scores and presented the artworks to CMHA and they voted for the one that they believed would do the best in a raffle.

‘Here We Stand’ Acrylic on Canvas 24 X 18, by Kit Bell AFCA, was ultimately chosen by CMHA.

Valued at over $1,000!

"Here We Stand" is an original painting by award winning artist Kit Bell AFCA of Kelowna, BC. This artwork measures 24" x 18" and is an acrylic on canvas. It has been framed with a beautiful custom frame donated by Mouldings & More of West Kelowna.

"For me, creating art is a question of balance. Life throws a lot of turmoil and negativity at you at times. It could easily become overwhelming, particularly now in the pandemic.

When I am painting, a sense of calm drifts through me, creating a balance within. When I explore new ideas, techniques and materials it brings joy and the possibility of new creative journeys.

But creating art is only one half of the equation. The second half lies with the viewer. I hope to bring the sense of joy and calm to the viewer. And hopefully help restore their balance." - Kit Bell AFCA
