Go ahead, stay at home! It's a No-Gala, Gala!
Dancing with Mississauga Stars is one of Mississauga's most talked about events! Sadly, with the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to re-imagine it. Over the past 7 years the event has raised more than $640,000 in support of our community's vitality and well being. We invite you to join us for our virtual gala presentation on November 6th, 2020 at 8pm. For your viewing convenience we will be sending the link to ZOOM in!! so stay tuned!
THE GALA RE-IMAGINED
From the moment the pandemic was declared, we knew there was a strong likelihood that charities would be hard hit. Our work is more important than ever and we must continue to fund-raise in order to support local initiatives that make a difference. The Gala event is usually our largest fundraising activity for the year and with the support of many giving volunteers, partners, and donors, we are pleased to bring you and your friends, a spectacular presentation, with a line up of entertainment that you don't want to miss! Featured guests include performer Kenny V.; Michael's Back Door, with a 'do it yourself' appetizer to inspire your at home Watch Party; Harry Hanson of Virtual Cocktail Class preparing our Signature Cocktail; and dance champion Dmytro Gurkov of Arthur Murray Dance Studios.
Funds raised will contribute to both our Annual Impact Fund and the Mississauga Emergency Relief Fund; established early in 2020, in support of Mississauga charities struggling to maintain programming during COVID. The event will be solely donation based so please give generously.
The vision of the Community Foundation of Mississauga is: A strong, vital community that has the resources it needs to ensure quality of life for everyone.
President, Arthur Murray

Mississauga Emergency Relief Fund 2020. This fund was established to support those charitable organizations whose programs were at risk of closing. Thanks to the many caring citizens in our community who have supported The Mississauga Emergency Relief Fund, successful grant recipients are providing services to address the social well-being of those most affected by the pandemic, including seniors, Mississaugans struggling with access to food and other vulnerable groups.
On May 19th 2020, the Emergency Community Support Fund of $350M from the Government of Canada was launched. In collaboration with the Canadian Red Cross and United Way Centraide Canada, and CFC, the Community Foundation of Mississauga was proud to distribute funding for projects designed to help our community and local agencies experiencing heightened vulnerability during the COVID-19 crisis.
Annual Grants delivered! The Community Foundation of Mississauga plays a pivotal role in supporting our community through annual grants, and is a trusted grant-making foundation that has been supporting Mississauga- focused charities for the past 14 years. 2020 has been a very busy and difficult year – it has been a privilege to help our community as it faces one of the most challenging crises that our world has seen.
