Join Dress for Success Orillia and Barrie for our seventh annual Power of the Purse on Thursday, January 26th!
We are thrilled to be hosting our first in-person Power of the Purse since January 2020. Layne "The Auctionista" will be hosting the evening and taking us through the live auction, with exciting, unique experiences to bid on. The silent auction will feature beautiful designer and one-of-a-kind handbags, and more. Plus, enjoy drinks and delicious hors d'oeuvres catered by Chopped Canada champion Melanie Robinson.
Power of the Purse is guaranteed to be a fun, inspiring evening to look forward to. All proceeds go to Dress for Success Orillia and Barrie and the services we provide to women throughout Simcoe County.

We provide our clients with attire to secure employment, but we don't stop there. Our Breakfast Club and Working Women's Group programs help women gain new skills, confidence, and the knowledge that they can actively define their lives and the direction they take.
Poverty often affects women the most, and its effects on them and their families can be long-lasting. Besides being beneficial for individual women, a growing body of evidence shows that increasing the share of household income controlled by women may produce other benefits like greater investment in children’s education, delayed marriage, and reductions in gender-based violence.
Addressing women’s needs is central to improving the quality of life for not only that woman but also her family, future generations and her community.

Enjoy a relaxing one night stay for 2 at Glen Oro Eco Retreat in their NEW Galaxygazer Dome.
Outside of each accommodation is a private camper fit for your careful use and enjoyment. Inside your unit you will find a luxurious king sized bed. The unit is heated by either an environmentally friendly wood pellet stove or more traditional wood stove. There is also a cedar barrel sauna which is heated by a Finnish wood stove.
Included with your stay is charcuterie and a breakfast box from Eclectic Café, and a bottle of 2012 Creekside Broken Press Syrah, donated by BPW Barrie.

Vettä is a Finnish inspired Nordic day spa that celebrates the Finnish lifestyle and sauna culture. These passes give you access to all of the Nordic spa: three relaxation rooms, one warm stone room, one warm pool, two hot pools, salt scrub shower, and two cold plunge pools. Each pass also includes a rob, towels, and a locker.
Eclectic Café is owned and operated by Alana Bell and Chopped Canada champion Chef Melanie Robinson. It is located in downtown Orillia and open Tuesday-Saturday, with brunch on Saturdays.
