Welland Food Drive

The people of Welland have been generous to help their neighbours in need for 27 years. This year, when it is needed more than ever, we are asking you to be generous again. Out of an abundance of caution, we will not be going door to door to collect food, but ask you to donate to our virtual food drive.

Before COVID thousands of people in Welland already struggled to put food on the table. Now, as people have been greatly affected by the COVID crisis, job losses and business closures, and CERB and other government supports are being rolled back, we expect an increase in need. We have already seen an increase in food bank use and expect that to continue to rise. If you are able to, please donate generously today.

Last year, you donated 100,000lbs of food. This year, we have a goal of $100,000.

Because of greater buying power, food banks are able to stretch a dollar. Your donation of $1 can buy $3-4 dollars worth of food when the food banks leverage their buying power and get discounts from food suppliers.

Lunch for a child

33% of food bank users in Welland are children. Help make sure children have what they need to learn, play and grow. Your donation of $25 provides lunch for a child for a week.

Groceries for a senior

Vulnerable seniors have been greatly affected by COVID. We have seen a 200% increase in food bank use by seniors in Welland. Your donation of $50 provides groceries for a senior for a week.

Feed a family

Your donation of $100 will provided needed emergency food for a family of four for a week.

Milk for a month

$500.00

Milk is one of the least donated items, but one of the most appreciated items by our clients. Your donation of $500 ensures that one of our food banks can offer milk for one month.

The funds donated to the Welland Food Drive, are collected by The Collective Impact Foundation and then the funds will be distributed to The Hope Centre, The Salvation Army and Open Arms Mission. For every donation made through this website, Collective Impact Foundation will email you a charitable tax receipt in the amount of your donation. Your receipt will read THE COLLECTIVE IMPACT FOUNDATION WELLAND FOOD DRIVE KELOWNA BC. Please rest assured, your donations end up at all three Charities - The Hope Centre, The Salvation Army and Open Arms Mission.
