Meet Eden Followell

Eden was found abandoned at a rail station two hours outside Kolkata, when she was 3 years old. Born with deformities to her hands and feet Eden spent 18 months in an orphanage. During that time she had three surgeries to save her hands and legs, which were funded by charitable donations from East Meets West Children's Foundation. Eden was adopted by the Followells' shortly after and now resides in Mississippi.

The East Meets West Children’s Foundation has raised money in the past to assist the Kolkata Orphanage, and also assist a center in Mumbai. This center cares for destitute boys aged 4 to 12, who have been committed to the care of the home by the government. The foundation has also provided health kits for the 42 villages and communities of the Kandhmal district of India. The kits benefited extremely impoverished tribal families living in remote regions of central India.

Locally we have continued to support the Starbright Child Development Centre and Karis Support Society. Helping to purchase equipment for autism therapy, providing support for addiction and mental health through the Karis support group.

Thank you for your generosity!

The East Meets West Children's Foundation was established in 2008. Our mandate includes providing medical treatment and educational training for abandoned children and children of the working poor. We seek out ways to help children in need both in India and closer to home in BC's Okanagan Region.
