As we all stay at home and help to 'plank that COVID-19 curve,' hair is getting seriously out of control. None of us want to cheat on our barber, right?
But COVID-19 physical distancing is leading to straggly beards, fuzzy crew cuts, stripy roots, and out of control bangs. We need to take action!
Welcome to the self-isolation salon! Hand the clippers to your kids and see what happens! Shave that head, trim those bangs, wax those... well whatever! You get the drift.
Every chop, snip and buzz will help raise vital funds to open the doors on a state-of-the-art new Health Science Centre at Okanagan College.
Thank You!
Evan, my 7-year old. was very excited to take part in this.
It initially started as a goal to shave 1 side of my head then evolved into an off-center faux-hawk and a half-beard.
When all was done, I asked my boys if they'd submit to a haircut and if so I'd top up my donation.
Evan chose the half cut and Carson chose the faux-hawk.
Thank you everyone who supported this great cause and getting in on the fun.
We hope you will treat yourself to a self-isolation salon haircut too!

My hair is out of control! Seeing I can't visit my hairdresser, I've decided to take matters into my own hands while supporting a good cause. I'm donating the price of my haircut to the Okanagan College Foundation to help them open a new Health Sciences Centre and train health care heroes for our community. It's been more than a month, and my hair needs a serious cut. I've set a fundraising goal of $200 and if I reach it, I will give the clippers to my daughter who can shave my head any way she sees fit! All funds raised will go to the Okanagan College Foundation to help them open a new Health Sciences Centre and train health care professionals for our community. Help me reach my goal!

Keep supporting local salons
