About OBSA Connect

In its first 39 years of existence, the annual networking event hosted by the OBSA was titled “The OBSA Business Reception” which allowed students to network with local businesses. The event grew over the years, attracting up to 400 guests including business students, faculty, and local professionals and evolved from a sit-down dinner reception with keynote speakers, to a stand-up social format. Last spring, the event adopted its new name to highlight the valuable connections that students make each year with leading employers of the Okanagan Valley.

OBSA Connect showcases the next generation of business professionals to the local business community and allows guests to experience some of the finest beer, wine, and cider this region has to offer. Held in the Centre for Learning Atrium at the Okanagan School of Business, guests will enjoy complementary hors d’oeuvres to fuel their conversations.

Come dressed to impress and celebrate the opportunity to form valuable connections with the best of the Okanagan.

About the Organization

The Okanagan Business Students’ Association (OBSA) is comprised of students registered in courses at the Okanagan School of Business – any student is eligible to join the committees. The OBSA — a registered society under the Societies Act — is administered centrally through the Kelowna campus of Okanagan College.

The association has two key aims: to connect Okanagan School of Business students with the business community, and to provide a means for OBSA members to develop their leadership and business skills outside of the classroom. To accomplish these aims, the OBSA holds several events throughout the school year, ranging from large-scale networking events to smaller thought provoking conversation panels.
