Ogopogo Grips
Ogopogo Grips is a charitable organization run by 2 highly passionate mountain bikers. Mountain biking is one of the fastest growing sports currently but one problem we have seen is that people are biking on trails, but who maintains the trails? Our company is a charitable organization which will donate majority of the profits to local trail builders in the Okanagan. Our main charity will be MTB co which maintains smith creek, knox, gillard and many other places we all take for granted. The grips are designed for the style of riding Okanagan offers, from double blacks to mellow greens, our grips can do it all. After all they are built for riding trails and also helps keep the trails in the best shape possible without disrupting the local ecosystem.
Our UN sustainable goals
Our 3 UN sustainable goals are; Good health and well-being, Climate action and life on land.
We chose good health and well-being because we like to promote mountain biking, a way to get healthy. We promote this exercise through our grips, grips that help with common health problems of riding, elbow pain being one. We also plan to donate a large portion of our revenue to trail building which in return promotes mountain biking.
We incorporate the second UN sustainable goal, climate action, by using biodegradable plastics for whatever plastics we use in our grips and other future products.
Our third and final UN goal, life on land, is incorporated into the business again through our donations to trail builders. The trail builders always build trails integrated into the local ecosystem which means no harm is done to trees and wildlife. That's why you always see diverse wildlife out on the trails!
Why we need your support
As you know this is run by two high school students and as a new business all donations are appreciated and put to work to get the grips out there. Which is where you come in, you can support our vision. The donations you give will help us buy prototypes and be able to advertise and make deals with larger companies to be able to spread our grips to a larger audience. Everything that you donate will be either used in the business or donated to local trail builders and organizations that encourages physical activity. No cent that's donated will end up in our pockets it will all be put back into the business so that we can become bigger and make better products for you all to use. After all, the more we grow the better the trails become.
