Raffle to Rescue Animals 2023

The Okanagan Humane Society (OHS) has been serving local animals for more than 27 years in the Okanagan Valley from Osoyoos to Kelowna and up to the Shuswap! This local charity has made a big impact in the community providing spay and neuter services to more than 25,000 animals and counting. A strong and nimble volunteer team rescued, rehabilitated, and fostered more than 1500 animals last year.

OHS responds to calls of lost and abandoned animals that may require emergency medical treatment or basic medical care and to be spayed or neutered. There is also a low income spay and neuter program and medical emergency fund accessible to the public by qualification. These animals are nursed back to health by our expert volunteer foster families and put up for adoption to find their new loving home. So far, this year, calls for help to OHS have increased significantly with many referrals coming from other organizations or shelters. The society does not receive any government funding and is reliant on support from the community to continue this life saving work for the local animals.

Okanagan Humane Society
The Okanagan Humane Society (OHS) is a Registered Canadian Charity committed to spaying and neutering pets to limit pet overpopulation by providing access to veterinary care for the most vulnerable animals in our communities: homeless, lost, abandoned, feral and unowned cats and dogs, and pets of low income families who experience barriers to accessing veterinary care. OHS operates in all communities of the Okanagan Valley and relies solely on grants and private donations to fund this work.
