Local People Helping Local Animals

The Okanagan Humane Society (OHS) has been serving local animals for more than 28 years in the Okanagan Valley from Osoyoos to Kelowna and up to the Shuswap, and has provided spay and neuter services to more than 30,000 animals and counting since inception.

Our strong and nimble team helped save the lives of 2500+ animals last year.

We do this in two ways:

Lost, abandoned and feral animals are largely brought to us by our community through our Rescue Program.

We work in collaboration with pet owners to ensure that their pets get spayed/neutered OR get the emergency medical assistance they need regardless of financial barriers through our Pet Assistance Program.

All of our animals are provided with medical care by one of 20+ Veterinary Partners, nursed back to health by our expert volunteer foster families, and adopted to loving forever homes.

As a volunteer powered, foster-based animal rescue, 95% of donor dollars go directly to the animals.

Help us say "yes" to saving the lives of local community animals today!

Okanagan Humane Society
The Okanagan Humane Society (OHS) is a Registered Canadian Charity committed to spaying and neutering pets to limit pet overpopulation by providing access to veterinary care for the most vulnerable animals in our communities: homeless, lost, abandoned, feral and unowned cats and dogs, and pets of low income families who experience barriers to accessing veterinary care. OHS operates in all communities of the Okanagan Valley and relies solely on grants and private donations to fund this work.
