Online Silent Auction

Enjoy the convenience of supporting wild bird conservation from the comfort of your own home by participating in Le Nichoir’s online auction.

When: 9 a.m. Saturday, November 7 until 5 p.m. Sunday, November 15th 9:00pm

All proceeds raised at this event will go directly towards supporting our bird care and education programs. The funds received will also help offset some of the financial losses Le Nichoir has experienced due to Covid-19.

Special Appeal: Help us reach our goal to buy essential medical equipment!

Since January, we have received more than 2,600 birds, all needing individual specialized medical care. As a non-profit organization, we depend on donations and fundraising events such as this one to purchase new equipment and replace old equipment that is no longer functioning.

Please consider making a contribution. Our equipment is essential to help us diagnose injuries and illnesses.

We are asking for YOUR support to help Le Nichoir reach our goal of $5,000 needed to purchase the following items:

0.1 g Precision scales

These sensitive scales help make sure our patients are eating well and keeping their weight! Detecting small changes in weight for our patients can often mean the difference between life and death.

Occult blood test kit

$50.00

This test is used to detect traces of blood in the feces of birds, which is an indication of bleeding in the digestive tract. This fast and non-invasive test is crucial when working with wild animals.

Ophthalmoscope

$100.00

This is used to help us look inside the eye to find eye injuries that would otherwise not be visible in birds admitted after a collision.

Centrifuge

$250.00

Sadly, our centrifuge reached its life expectancy. We depend on this machine to run blood tests to help us diagnose illnesses. Without this machine, we will be unable to perform these tests in-house.

Oxygen concentration

$500.00

We use our oxygen concentrator every day! This machine provides oxygen to patients who have suffered trauma or are in shock.

Silent auction rules:

• The last name with the highest bid on the bidding sheet wins

• Starting bids and minimum bid increments must be respected

• Bids that do not respect the minimum bid increment will be disregarded

• We will contact winners on Monday, November 16th

Items purchased at our event can be picked up directly at Le Nichoir (637 Main) or at a location in Baie D’Urfe.

Delivery is also available to those individuals currently isolating due to the pandemic in the Hudson, Rigaud, St-Lazare, Vaudreuil and West Island area.
