Margit Lieder - Art Deco Entrance Door

I started sanding my door. When the beautiful silver colour emerged, the door told me what it wanted: A minimalist Art Deco (1910-1940) design with clean abstract symmetrical shapes and striking colours. A vision of new “Bauhaus” movement, joining architecture with various crafts and art and a return to the spirit of craftsmanship based on simplicity, beauty and functionality.

I have done pottery, bead and woodworking, bookmaking, painting, textile design, sculpture, paper-making and more. After a 20 year career in teaching I completed a degree in studio arts at Capilano University. My art has been sold in West Vancouver, North Vancouver, and on Hornby Island.
