Poppy Lynn Clavette - "Octopus 1", 2024

I am currently working on a series of artworks titled "Love Me Deeply" inspired by my favorite muse - the ocean. This is the first sculptural piece in the series, created to look like a ship's door with a porthole and underwater scene with an octopus. This artwork conveys my vision of a brighter future through a colorful and playful scene full of abundance, wonder and mystery.

I used glow in the dark paint and lights are built into the porthole frame. The lights can act as a lamp and also charge up the paint for a nice glow when lights are off. I also used some metal findings, resin, foam, seashells, etc. to decorate the door in a nautical theme, with many details.

I am a Visual Artist from Langford, B.C. I have a life-long passion for all aspects of art and design, a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Victoria, and a Certificate of Graphic Design from Pacific Design Academy. My motto is "Any Subject, Any Style, Any Surface, -You Name It!
