Be part of stoking the fires of change!
This 2-hour online workshop is for anyone who wishes to cultivate right relations but is unsure where to begin. This is not your typical workshop: Expect stories and creative activities that will inspire you to:
- Unpack unconscious bias, privilege, and misconceptions in a safer space
- Learn about Indigenous practices of inclusion
- Build a foundation for engaging more meaningfully with Indigenous people
Who is the workshop for?
- Everyone who is interested in building better relationships with Indigenous people is invited and no background training is necessary.
The workshop runs on September 17 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 (noon) Pacific time.
About IndigenEYEZ
IndigenEYEZ puts Indigenous principles and practices together with cutting-edge tools in social engagement to deliver workshops that build bridges between allies and Indigenous peoples. It uses playfulness and creativity to ease participants into difficult conversations in a safe way.
Founded six years ago, IndigenEYEZ has shared its unique brand of trainings across BC and beyond, touching 7,000+ people. IndigenEYEZ is at the forefront of a movement to position Indigenous people as essential contributors to creating a livable future for all of us on Turtle Island. It is a project on the shared platform of MakeWay, a charity dedicated to a healthy environment, social equity, and economic prosperity.

A proud Syilx Okanagan woman of mixed European heritage, Kelly combines a wealth of experience in Indigenous community development with a passion for social change and an abiding gift for creating fun spaces for others. Kelly brings 30+ years of work in regional and provincial positions along with diverse skills that include being an in-demand facilitator, certified coach, curriculum developer, filmmaker, and holding a degree in social work. Coming from strong families in both the Indigenous and non-Indigenous worlds, she has spent her life bridging these divides and is supportive of others navigating this important process.

Andrew Greer is the Managing Director at Purppl (Purposeful People), a social enterprise accelerator. Purppl helps social enterprises and social purpose organizations build sustainable revenue models and sustainable impact models. He’s also a cofounder a Liime, a regional impact investment fund in Interior BC. He’s a Director with Big Brothers and Sisters and the Collective Impact Foundation.

How should I prepare?
We'll be in touch a few days before the event with some light pre-reading (30-60 mins of content).
I won't be near a computer- can I call in?
IndigenEYEZ' workshops are interactive and would be best attended using the Zoom app (mobile or desktop).
How much are tickets?
$100 Standard - participation in the workshop and access to the handouts and readings
$150 Supporter - includes the standard package & a contribution in support of Indigeneyez
$200 Champion - includes the standard package & a scholarship for anyone experiencing payment barriers to participate in the training
