About me:

Hello! My name is Danika Brydges and I am a 15 year old entrepreneur located in the heart of the Okanagan. I am the proud creator & owner of shake shield. I have a two year old german shepherd/ lab mix named Nova, who is full of energy and loves water just as much as I do. Nova and I love going to the beach, and she loves to shake what always seems to be half of the lake all over my parents vehicles. I saw a need for a product that both protected the vehicle interior and helps our furry friends dry off while remaining affordable to pet owners.

What is "Shake Shield"?

Shake Shield is a product I am working to develop and plan on selling in the near future. It is made from 100% cotton, high quality towel like fabric and will come in multiple size options to cater to the vast variety of dog breeds and sizes. The shake shield will be a uniquely shaped pet specific towel with an opening near the centre. You applicate it by putting your dogs head through the hole laying the wide piece of fabric along their back and the opposite side going under their belly. The belly part will have an adjustable buckle so you can wrap it around their mid-section and adjust to best fit. you will then have your dogs core completely covered and custom fitted to ensure maximum mobility while wearing. It is designed to catch most drips and protect your interior from your dog shaking out, weather it's in your car coming home from the beach or your house after giving them a bath. This product is recommended to be washed after every use to avoid lingering smell and is machine safe.

100% of the proceeds received by this fundraiser will be going towards launching my small business and starting the manufacturing process for my first product: the "shake shield". I am working to develop this product so pet owners can enjoy every part of their swim involved activities as much as possible. This product reduces the inconvenience of your furry friend drenching everything around them and leaving an unpleasant mess behind that you would have to clean up. If you're someone who loves to go to the beach like me, but don't enjoy the water show in the car on the way home, this product would be perfect for you. Now you can enjoy every part of your outing!
