She-Shed Raffle

More pictures to come! Habitat for Humanity Red Deer is raffling off a fully finished She-Shed this spring. Thank you to our friends at Central Alberta Co-op who donated and built the shed with exterior finishing, Wolf Creek Building Supplies for donating interior supplies, Benjamin Moore Red Deer for donating paint, and our volunteer designer Janina Jewell who will design and finish the interior in a relaxed boho style. Habitat Red Deer's ReStore will supply the majority of the decor and furnishings. Transport of the shed to the winner's home will be donated by City Wide Towing.

Details:

10x12 yard shed, finished with shingles and vinyl siding. The shed can be easily powered with an extension cord and includes a main light fixture and 2 dual power outlets inside. Interior will be fully finished (insulated and sheeted) with vinyl floors, painted, and comes with decor and furniture.

This 'She-Shed' isn't only for the ladies! You can change up the decor and this can be a great space for anyone.

Our Impact

65

families in Central Alberta served through our affordable homeownership program and growing every year!

130+

youth who have benefited from a Habitat home.

5

communities in Central Alberta we have built in, with more to come.

50

homes built in Central Alberta, with 4 more to be complete in spring 2024.

What We Do

Habitat Red Deer partners with low-income, working Central Alberta families to build homes which they purchase through our affordable mortgage program. We welcome families from all cultures, religions, and structures to apply if they are in core housing need (current home is unsafe, inadequate, or unaffordable), have employment income to pay an affordable mortgage, and are willing to partner with us including contributing 500 volunteer hours.

Now more than ever, as the affordable housing crisis grows across Canada, the demand for Habitat homes is increasing and we need the support of the community to continue serving families in Central Alberta. Through the Habitat program, families get a hand up to build a better future – the foundation of a safe and affordable home allows them to achieve financial stability, decreased dependence on community resources, and better education outlooks for their children (Boston Consulting Group survey).

Habitat Red Deer is the only charitable organization dedicated to affordable homeownership in Central Alberta.
