Support PORCA and win a complete Chromag Monk!

PORCA, in partnership with the Village of Pemberton, are excited to announce the opening of the Pemberton Bike Skills Park Saturday, July 16th at 10am.

To celebrate, our longtime supporters at Chromag have donated a 2022 Chromag Monk 26" chromoly dirt jumper – size / colour to be determined with the winner.

Dirt jumps require upkeep from skilled builders and volunteers. PORCA has agreed to partner with the Village of Pemberton and do our part to raise funds for tools, material, equipment and the ongoing maintenance needed to ensure the Pemberton Bike Skills Park is a success.

About the Prize

This Chromag Monk is a low slung steel weapon, designed around dedicated DJ geometry and constructed with 4130 chromoly tubing. This will offer you a light and incredibly stiff rear triangle combined with the notorious ride quality of chromoly. Built entirely of Chromag components and a Pike DJ fork, you are equipped with the best components available for this category.

The journey

In 2018, PORCA dreamed big. We wanted a community recreational amenity that would support Pemberton's mountain bike culture and provide opportunities for all levels of riders. We wanted to maintain and enhance Pemberton's world class riding experience for residents and visitors alike.

For two years PORCA searched for a suitable location without success. We went back to the drawing board and approached Mayor and Council, who passed a motion for VOP staff to work with PORCA to find a solution. The new Den Duyf recreation site area was selected and in March 2021, the Village of Pemberton was awarded $974,258 to support the development of a bike skills park from the Government of British Columbia.

In partnership with PORCA, an additional $25,000 in funding was secured thanks to the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation.

The Park includes four different zones comprising a pump track, skills park, drop zone and four jump lines with different difficultly ratings so riders can progress as their skill level increases. The park was built by Velo Solutions and Coast Gravity Park
