All for Community - Speaker's Event

Each year, The Community Foundation of Mississauga hosts a Speakers event intended to motivate, and inspire. This event raises awareness around a broad range of topics, which help to engage our communities in conversations that matter, and has been a learning opportunity for self-improvement, either at work or in our personal lives. Now more then ever before, we need a lift.

While our city and others are following protocols and staying home to stay safe, we know there is still great uncertainty, people still feel fragile and worried. These are unprecedented times and we are all learning as we go along, but this can not stop us from doing what we must to ensure our own good health, purpose and empowerment, to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

On March 23rd, as a community, we will be celebrating spring. A great time to instill hope and optimism after long periods of physical isolation, the loss of loved ones, the loss of jobs, financial insecurity and the daily stress felt since COVID broke in March 2020. With the virus still raging out of control, we are moving our Speakers Event virtually, making it even more assessable to those who need this fresh and healthy perspective.

We invite you to join us, to learn and grow, and to celebrate with us The Community Foundation of Mississauga's 20th Anniversary!

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) says good mental health is “having a sense of purpose, strong relationships, feeling connected to our communities, knowing who we are, coping with stress and enjoying life.” This includes resilience, which is having good ways to deal with your feelings and enjoy life even when things are challenging. I think we can all agree we are living in challenging times :(

The Community Foundation of Mississauga
The Community Foundation of Mississauga serves the people and neighbourhoods of Mississauga from Port Credit in the south to Meadowvale in the north. Working with our donors and the broader community, we invest in building strong and resilient places to live, work and play. We were established by a dedicated, group of leaders who believed in and were committed to Building Community Vitality. Our three roles include customized donor services and endowment building; grantmaking; and community leadership. Our cumulative granting to a wide range of local charities grows each year and as of 2019 , we have granted over $20 million.
