Sunshine House has operated the Mobile Overdose Prevention Site (MOPS) since October 2022 out of an RV (pictured at left, with the Sunshine House staff!). We don't have funding beyond October 31, 2022. The proceeds of this 50/50 draw will go to keep this life-saving, community-based public health initiative going!
Save the MOPS!
MOPS (Mobile Overdose Prevention Site) is a place where people can access information on harm reduction, get referrals and can use drugs in a safe, warm space where they are supervised by staff who are trained in overdose response.
MOPS is parked in the lot beside 631 Main St. (pictured left) from 11:45am-5:15pm Wednesday through Sunday. From 5:30-6:30, it visits different community places!
MOPS distributes harm reduction supplies, provides referrals to other services and also dispenses HIV rapid tests.
MOPS has a mobile mass spectrometer that can check drugs for contaminants.
