4th Annual Mayor's Charitable Gala

Presented by Vesta Properties

One of Langley Township’s most anticipated events will return in 2022 to support initiatives that build a better future for children and youth in Langley.

The 4th Annual Mayor’s Charitable Gala is presented by Vesta Properties and hosted by Mayor Jack Froese, Township of Langley Council, and Township of Langley Firefighters IAFF Local 4550. The Gala will be held Saturday, September 10 in the Arena Bowl at Langley Events Centre.

The Gala theme is Shine a Light, and it will raise funds for the Township of Langley Firefighters’ Charitable Society (TLFCS). The event will feature entertainment, fine dining, and inspirational stories of young Langley residents.

The Langley School Snack Program and other initiatives supported by the TLFCS Endowment Fund, along with a campaign to open and support Foundry Langley, are vital community projects that will benefit from this year’s Gala.

For seven years, the TLFCS has been ensuring children aren’t going hungry and can focus on learning by providing healthy snacks to students in Township of Langley schools. Snacks are currently provided in 25 schools, and the goal is to extend the program to all 36 schools in the community.

Foundry Langley will also receive funds from the Mayor’s Gala. Scheduled to open in Spring 2022, the centre at 20618 Eastleigh Crescent will bring health and social services together in one place for youth ages 12-24, and their families. Part of the Gala proceeds will seed an Innovation Fund for ongoing support of new programs for emerging and urgent needs.

Created in 2018, the TLFCS Endowment Fund allows donors to make perpetual gifts that will support programs now and for years to come. One of the Society’s main goals is to expand the Fund to generate enough income to securely sustain all of its initiatives, including the Langley School Snack Program.

The 2022 Mayor’s Charitable Gala will include a VIP cocktail reception hosted by Mayor Froese and members of the TLFCS, with TV personality and Aldergrove native Erin Cebula as our guest emcee. The night includes a farm-to-table fine dining experience, music, and silent and live auctions with auctioneer Fred Lee, who is back by popular demand.
