How can we create structural change for sexual assault survivors?
Survivor & Activist Aden Wither’s report is among the 5,000 cases of sexual assaults that are closed by police in Canada every year. Join us for a panel discussion with Aden and Community Activists moderated by CBC Host, Alya Ramadan, to explore how we can bring about structural change for sexual assault Survivors moving forward.
This event is brought to you by SVPRO in partnership with The Central Okanagan Elizabeth Fry Society. Appetizers and refreshments will be provided following the panel. All proceeds from the event will be donated to trauma counselling services at Elizabeth Fry Society through their #SPEAKOUT movement to support Survivors of sexual violence.

What is #SPEAKOUT?
Elizabeth Fry Society launched the #SPEAKOUT Campaign on November 1st, as a way to break the silence & shine a spotlight on the realities of sexual assault in the Okanagan. This is a movement to engage the entire Okanagan community around speaking out to Support Survivors of sexual violence, and to fundraise for Trauma Counselling Services. The waitlist for trauma counselling for sexual assault currently ranges from between 6 months to over 1 year. This waitlist is due strictly to a lack of funding to implement counselling services.
This is where the community comes in! Elizabeth Fry Society has a current goal of reaching $15,000 to provide 200 counselling sessions - 10 Sessions each for 20 Survivors.
