Integrated Pest Management:

Smartphone ID with iNaturalist

This workshop aims to guide you through diagnosing what's affecting your crops by leveraging the technology readily available in our pockets. Our expert, Allyson, will provide tips on capturing high-quality photos of insects and plant issues using your smartphone. Additionally, you'll learn how to use the iNaturalist app to attempt identifying the problem. Accurately identifying pests is a crucial foundational step in integrated pest management. Knowing precisely what to photograph and how to effectively use identification resources to filter suggestions are essential skills that you'll develop during this session.

Allyson has a Horticulture Crop Production and Protection Certificate from the University of the Fraser Valley. She started working at E.S.
