She is the Chairperson of the Commission on Safety Standards, established by the International Atomic Energy Agency. Throughout her career, she has worked in various capacities at Ontario Hydro and Ontario Power Generation, and has an extensive background of technical and regulatory experience in Canada’s nuclear sector. Rumina holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Engineering. She was one of the founding members of Canada's Women in Science and Engineering and currently serves on the Board of the Canadian Institute for Women in Engineering and Science.
