Rules of Play for 50/50 Raffle:


1. The lottery will take place online from 8 a.m. Monday, October 16 2023, to Noon on Thursday, November 16th, 2023.


2. All tickets will only be sold to people who are 18 years of age or older.


3. Ticket buyers must be physically in the province of Ontario at the time of purchase.


4. Tickets are $10 for 5, $20 for 20, or $50 for 100


5. Tickets will be sold online only at unitedwayguelph.com/lottery.


6. Tickets will be sold using an electronic raffle system supplied by Trellis.


7. After buying online, patrons will receive a confirmation e-mail with their 50/50 registered numbers from a Random Selection System. No specific numbers can be given as numbers are generated randomly.


8. The winning ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) system from all raffle numbers sold for the draw.


9. The amount of the 50/50 and winning number will be announced on unitedwayguelph.com/lottery. and by email.


10. The winner may claim their prize by contacting United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin at: 519-821-0571 or by email at: holly@unitedwayguelph.com. The winnings must be claimed by the individual named in the original purchase transaction. Proof of the online winning ticket may then be brought to the United Way Office at 85 Westmount Road Guelph at an agreed upon time for ticket and identity verification. The winner will then be paid by cheque for the amount posted at the event for which they bought their ticket. Winners must have the original winning virtual ticket and no copies.


11. The winning ticket holder has 6 months in which to claim their prize from the date of the draw their ticket was purchased for.


12. Winners will be required to provide their full name, address and phone number upon claiming their prize. Once the certified winner is verified, they will be given a cheque in the amount of the declared prize which is, 50% of the total sales for that event. If the winner cannot provide photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until such identification can be provided.


13. In the event that no winner comes forward, the winning ticket number will be kept in a safe and held for 6 months. After that time period has elapsed, the prize will be donated to a charity other than United Way GWD with the approval of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).


14. The following persons are not eligible to participate in the United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin 50/50 draws: United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin Staff and Board of Directors, as well as their spouses, are not permitted to purchase tickets and are not eligible to win.


15. All early bird tickets, including winners, will be put back in the drum to be eligible for the Grand Prize. All tickets purchased between 8 a.m Monday October 15th, 2023, to 11:59 p.m. Thursday, October 26th, 2023, will be entered into the Early Bird Draw of $500. Tickets will go back in to also be eligible for the Grand Prize.


16. The draw for Early Bird will take place on Friday, October 27th, 2023, at 1 P.M.


17. All tickets purchased between 8 a.m Monday October 15th, 2023, to noon Friday, November 16th, 2023, will be entered into the Grand Prize Draw. It is possible for the same number to win the early bird and the grand prizes.


18. The draw for the Grand Prize will take place on Friday, November 16th, 2023, at 1 p.m.


19. The Grand Prize Draw will have a guaranteed minimum prize of $2,500.


20. When the ticket sales exceed $5,000, the grand prize will be half of the sales.


21. Lottery tickets are NOT eligible for charitable tax receipts.


22. Lottery tickets cannot be transferred or resold to another party.


23. The above set of rules will be posted online at unitedwayguelph.com/lottery.
