A Haircut for Health Care Heroes
Working at KGH for the past 14 years as a Health Support Worker, I know how important it is to have qualified and trained professionals. I have seen many nursing students in their practicums who are eager to help and serve patients.
With COVID-19, I know we need more health care workers to keep the care going.
I want to support Okanagan College students who will move on to work at KGH and many other important care facilities, like nursing homes, in our communities.
If you can give, please support this cause and donate.
Update: My wife, who also works in health care, shaved my hair! Thank you so much for supporting my goal.
You will receive a tax receipt from the Okanagan College Foundation for your donation by email.

Thank you for your support: a $5k donation
While Okanagan College President Jim Hamilton jokes that he doesn't have much hair to inspire people to donate, he still wants to thank the community for coming together in support of education for the next generation of health care heroes.
That's why he's personally donated $5,000 after the campaign raised $10,000 on May 1

Keep supporting local salons
While salons may not be able to cut your hair in-person, many are offering virtual advice and product delivery. Please support them and be sure to stay loyal once this is over. When we get through this, we will need their talent and help more than ever!
Cut at your own risk!
As a result of COVID-19, there are many online tutorials on how to cut your hair. Make sure to do your research and go slowly. Okanagan College Foundation accepts no liability for failed cuts or injuries resulting from participation.
