As a donor, when you create an account, make a donation or purchase a ticket for an event or request to be part of our mailing list;

As a champion, when you create an account, to help facilitate championing your cause such as setting up your page and to obtain the necessary information for approval of your campaign or event from your chosen cause;

As an organization, when you create an account, to assist your organization in collecting donations, promoting your event, championing a cause, selling a ticket for an event or promoting that event or raising awareness about your cause.

Trellis will require you to provide personal information to identify yourself for an account such as name, address, email address, financial personal information such as a bank account or credit card to process payment and provide tax receipts and information about yourself and guests to attend events.

The Trellis platform provides you with the option of registering form and logging in to your account through a social media sign in such as Facebook or Google +. If you choose to use the social media single-sign-on service, you are granting permission to the application social media account to share certain profile information with us. This will include your name, profile picture and list of friends and any other information notified to you by the application social media platform prior to you completing the single-sign-on authorization process. You control what social media information you allow us to have access to using the privacy settings on the applicable social media platform and any permissions you give as part of the single-sign-on authorization process.

How we Collect Technical Data?

Trellis does collect anonymous information about visitors to the Site. This information is used internally to perform traffic analysis. We automatically collect certain technical data about you from your computer, mobile device and/or browser when you access the Platform to improve our services.   • to confirm your identify if you are collecting donations as an employee of an organization;
  • to issue tax receipts for donations; 
  • to communicate directly with you if you are a recent donor of a charity, about relevant news and events of charities you support; and
  • to communicate directly with you, when you ask to do so, about Trellis support, other charitable events, updates, charitable campaigns and stories that we think are of interest to you (if you opt in to such use and disclosure).

We do not require you to provide more personal information than is reasonably required to fulfill the Services we provide to you. Whenever possible, we seek to obtain your consent before we collect your personal information. The form of consent may vary depending on the circumstances and the type of service requested. Consent can be express or implied, and can be directly provided by your self or an authorized representative.

You may request withdrawal of your consent for use of personal information at any time subject to any legal and contractual restrictions. Your consent can be withdrawn by unsubscribing to our emails or by contacting our Privacy Officer. Without your consent, use and disclosure of your information, Trellis may be unable to provide you with certain services such as tax receipting or event tickets.

For example, when you champion a campaign or a cause, you have the option of posting your email address. If you choose not to, your email address will be kept confidential and donors and event attendees can contact you through Trellis’s instant messaging system.

Trellis may also share personal and non-personal information with our service providers who are retained to provide us with services to fulfill our obligations to you. Service providers are not permitted to use or share your information for any purposes not related to the services provided to Trellis.

If, as a Champion or employee of an organization, you opt to publish your email address or other contact information on the Site, you acknowledge that such information will be available to any visitor to our Site. As such, we cannot control how visitors will use your contact information. For example, visitors may use your email address to send you unsolicited emails that Trellis will not be able to stop. You should also remember that your personal information will continue to be available on the Internet until you delist your listing.

Social Media and Trellis hosted Foundation, Charity and Organization Events

As an organizer, when you host an event, Trellis may use your organization’s name and logo and any event photos that have been published publicly (whether or not you have made it available through the Services) for the purpose of identifying you as an existing or past customer of Trellis both on the Services and in marketing, advertising and promotional materials. If you have engaged Trellis for a private event, your name, logo and photos will only be used with your express consent.

Amending Personal Information

If you have registered an account with us, you have the ability to review and update your personal information at any time by logging in to your account and making the required changes.

You may also make corrections or updates to the personal information that you provide us. Visitors who do no have an account must contact us to make changes to personal information.

How We Use Website Tracking Technologies and Cookies

An Internet Protocol (“IP”) address is a unique number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are on the Internet. Trellis collects IP addresses for the purposes of: helping us diagnose problems with our computers, for administrative purposes, to report aggregated information, and to audit the use of our Site.
