Every year, Patronato Pro Niños hosts a large fourth of July fundraiser event outdoors with lots of food, fireworks and a whole lot of fun! This fundraiser is not only an important day to celebrate for Patronato Pro Niños but also their biggest fundraiser of the year, bringing in around $50,000 through donations, silent auctions items, ticket sales and more.

This year, due to COVID Patronato Pro Niños was forced to cancel their fundraiser, having to find a new way to fundraise.

Daniela, Nory and the rest of the Patronato Pro Niños team decided to try something new. They knew it had to be virtual but weren’t familiar with many virtual fundraising platforms. When they heard about the capabilities of Trellis, they decided to test out the platform with a smaller scale fundraiser.

Trellis thinks about everything

“Trellis thinks about everything! Making different tickets, tax receipting different parts of the ticket. Not everyone thinks of all the details the Trellis platform has. Trellis thinks of everything charities need.” – Daniela Briones, International Development Director, Patronato Pro Niños

To encourage fourth of July celebrations, Patronato Pro Niños created specialty baskets, filled with tequila, picnic and bbq supplies, and sold them through their Trellis fundraising page. The baskets were a great way to test a new virtual way of bringing in funds. The event was no replacement for their annual fourth of July event, but it helped keep them in their donors minds and has led to their full trust in Trellis as they now start to plan large scale virtual events.

“The tax receipting was amazing, the reports and insights on Trellis were amazing, and it was very easy to upload pictures and customize our page.” – Daniela Briones, International Development Director, Patronato Pro Niños

According to Nory, “people were really in love with it”, and the event created the opportunity to have some fourth of July fun delivered straight to people’s homes.

The Patronato Pro Niños team had such a positive experience working with Trellis that they have now decided to run their upcoming three-week event series on the platform too. The event will feature three large evening events, including a concert with a Candian folk singer and Mexican singer, a talk about the Mexican Cartels, and a cooking tutorial hosted by a professional Mexican chef.

Easy to use

“As someone who is not very techy, I love the ease of use with Trellis.” – Nory Contractor, Executive Director, Patronato Pro Niños

Patronato Pro Niños is eager to host more successful fundraisers on Trellis and is thankful to know that the Trellis team has its back.

Trellis has your back

“If you are new to a platform and there is no customer service, you feel like you have been thrown into the ocean and will drown. Knowing customer service is behind a product makes all the difference.”

– Nory Contractor, Executive Director, Patronato Pro Niños

“Trellis has always been there for us; every question, every thought.”

– Daniela Briones, International Development Director, Patronato Pro Niños
